ABOUT ALTA PHYSIO -

Anyone who has trusted us with their treatment knows that we do things differently.

Let’s fix your sh*t

Have you ever been to Physiotherapy and found you saw the actual therapist for less than 5 minutes? Spent more time with the assistant? Or on a god-forsaken machine? We have been treating as a physiotherapist long enough to hear those complaints on repeat.

Our focus is on hands-on treatment and a commitment from our clients (you!) to doing their prescribed mindful movement routine. With those two ingredients, the right mindset and a dash of fairy dust, together we can overcome your injury and/or dysfunction.

The Team

  • Owner/Registered Physiotherapist

Born and raised on the East Coast, Jeannine relocated to Calgary in 2013 and was fortunate enough to have her close friends, Sarah and Alison, join.

Jeannine strongly feels that clients should be empowered and educated about taking an active role in their health and wellness. She achieves this by including her clients in her assessment findings as well as explaining in detail how the body is made to move – and move well.

Outside of work, Jeannine enjoys to spend her free time running, cross fit, spin, yoga, as well as soccer.  She also loves spending time hanging with her two stubborn Bulldogs, Rexton and Boris.

Jeannine is committed to client centered care and believes that hands on treatment and body movement is the key successful outcomes. She truly feels that clients can only get out what they put in… so get to work!

  • Registered Physiotherapist

Alison was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Moving to Calgary in 2014, she has worked mostly in the private practice and chronic pain settings. She considers herself lucky that she met Jeannine and Sarah through their master’s program at Dalhousie University. Long days and long nights proved to develop not only a lasting friendship but professional bonds that have lead us all to Alta!

Dry needling, manual therapy, and a strong active approach to your treatment is her bread and butter. She will always want you walking out of the door stronger than you came in.

Outside of work Alison loves spending time with her daughter Blake, running, paddle boarding in the summer, and skiing in the winter!

  • Registered Physiotherapist

Sarah was born in raised in Newfoundland where she completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at Memorial University and met long time friend Jeannine. She then continued to Halifax for her Masters in Physiotherapy, where both girls met Alison! Sarah and her husband relocated out west to Calgary for work and to be closer to siblings.

Sarah has taken various continuing education courses over the years, and is proficient at both Dry Needling and Acupuncture amongst many other skills. Sarah prefers a hands-on, manual therapy approach to treatment, and even though she comes across as cute and sweet, she is not afraid to give her clients homework.

She lives an active, healthy lifestyle, including keeping on her toes chasing her busy toddler around. She’s a firm believer that you only get one body and must take care of it!

  • Registered Massage Therapist

Victoria was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then dove feet first into the field of Strength and Conditioning which finally lead her to a career in Massage Therapy. She wanted to offer more within a clinical setting... and to work with us of course ;).

Victoria takes a more kick a** approach to Massage Therapy and we are pretty pumped about it. She blends her treatments by combining her manual skills with her background in movement. So get ready to work hard on the table AND in the gym!

Come in, check her out and get your body moving better!

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine, Registered Acupuncturist, Registered Massage Therapist

Eryn was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She obtained a Bachelors of Kinesiology majoring in sports performance and conditioning. Eryn brings her knowledge of western and eastern medicine with her strong exercise background and a variety of modern manual techniques to develop a well-rounded holistic treatment. She utilizes exercise prescription, acupuncture, motor-point needling, gua sha, cupping and dietary therapy in her treatments, as needed.
